Promoting harmony between production and conservation

Through the use of geomatics tools, we conduct a survey of the farm, analyzing its characteristics through agronomic, ecological, and landscape indicators. We identify areas with lower productive potential and higher potential for nature conservation, which we transform into biological corridors and patches.

By integrating the productive matrix area with the biodiversity conservation area, we generate synergies between both areas, seeking to replace external inputs for production with ecosystem services provided by biodiversity. Some examples include pollination, air and water regulation, nutrient renewal, and soil erosion prevention.

The result is an farm designed by AgroDesign that is innovative, as productive lots and biodiversity areas follow landscape heterogeneity, often presenting curvilinear forms in contrast to areas designed using conventional methods based on orthogonal land division.
